A man and a woman, a dog and a house. The man runs a kiteschool, the woman is a journalist and a writer, the dog barks and the house accomodates us. We’re north of Cartagena in Puerto Colombia. We’re kiting, eating, reading, playing and sleeping. And today we were on the prime time news over here…
The lady has just published a 10-year project, a bio about the best friend of Gabriel Garcia Marques, who influenced the writers reading and writing the most. Hence also influencing Colombian and South American literature a great deal. She interviewed us this morning for a travel-magazine. Apparently we’re a bit odd vacationing around here. And from the next week or so we’re gonna be regarded even more odd. In fact, freaks. We’re going to be in the dry, remote, sparsely populated Cabo de la vela, north of Colombia in the Venezuelan boarder. In the land of the Waiuu Indians, where wifi and showers are absent and wind and wild camping are the norm. Caio!
